Ooh look at the strings
Went to Fermi Lab today. That was fun. We were supposed to have 7 people go the it dropped to 6 and then only me and Dr Vogel showed up at the science building to go. Don't know why all the others decided not to go but they missed out. It was fun. There was a talk on string theory. I'm not sure how I feel about string theory yet. It seems like a way of simplifying and combining gravity and quantum but then again it requires so many new dimensions in order to work. That just seems like it would complicate things more. But I'm not a theorist in this area, actually not a theorist at all, so I don't know how it all works out. But it was still a good lecture and then getting a tour of Fermi itself was super cool. The place was actually very artistic, something I wasn't expecting. Turns out the person who designed the place was also an artist as well as a physicist (I'm not the only one out there then :)). Seeing the particle accelerators and such was fun. It was really really cool. Definitely want to go again sometime cause its just so cool. And they have Bison up there! You've got cool phyisicsy stuff and then you have Bison too, thats just awesome. And to all of you who didn't show up, tsk tsk, you should have been there.
